Carson Tyler Wood

Carson Tyler Wood is here!! He's a week old today. Everything happened so fast last Monday, but he finally made it here. He was 8 lbs. 1 oz. , 21 inches long, and had a double chin and the chubbiest cheeks. Spencer and Andrew LOVE him...always kissing and peering into the cradle...I guess just to make sure he's still there. We haven't caught Andrew holding Carson yet. We're not fast enough with getting the camera ready. He holds him for a second and then pushes him off his lap. Spencer's always asking to hold him. You don't think you could love another child like the first one, but then you do with the second one...and then you have the third one and the love just keeps flowing ... overflowing is more the word. We're so excited to have another addition to our family. He's the perfect little baby...

tis the season for ladybugs

The ladybugs have once again taken over our house. Not quite sure why every year around this time they seem to invade...but this year isn't any different. Spencer was on the hunt today to catch a few. He went and got his bug net to try and catch one and we "put" one in there and he got a little afraid when it started crawling out. We put it back in the net, then it decided to fly out and land somewhere on the wall near the lamp. So Spencer was on the hunt again, trying to find that ladybug and catch it. Not too much success without our help but it was a fun game for a while. Andrew even tried to get in on the fun. It seems as though he walks around all day pointing out the ladybugs and wanting me to "get them". He's quick to point them out, but slow to go and catch one.



I've still been trying to take it easy so we haven't ventured out the past couple of days. It's still a little hard to take it easy when I see so much around me that needs to be done. Oh well. Shaun has jury duty again tomorrow, so hopefully that won't last too long and he can come on home early in the day. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

past week in review

Well I went to the doctor on Thursday and the doctor caught me off guard a little by telling me that I had already dilated 3 - 4 cm and needed to be on partial bedrest, and take medicine to stop the contractions I was having. I totally was not expecting that so it kinda got me in gear to get ready for the baby. I was only a little over 35 weeks so it made sense for me to wait until the baby was a little more developed before I had him. I went again today and as most of you know, we have no baby yet. I just turned 36 weeks today and we were praying that the baby would stay in at least until today, and it looks like he will stay in a little longer than that...hopefully at least until what is considered "full - term"...37 weeks. The medicine that the doctor gave me (brethine) must be helping a lot with the contractions because I haven't had as many lately and I haven't really changed much from being dilated 4 cm. My next appointment is next Monday so we'll see what happens. I'm still a little miserable but I think I can make it :) I've been trying to take it easy...it's a little hard with 2 almost "babies" themselves. But Shaun has really been a wonderful husband and helping me out with the housework and taking care of the boys when he is home. I really don't know what I would do without him.

We had a busy week last week. The missionary couple in our ward, the Crawford's, are leaving this week to go home to Canada after 2 years of service here, so our ward had them a dinner at the church on Monday to wish them well and give thanks to them for all of their service here. They are like part of our family so they are truly going to be missed.

My grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary was on Tuesday so we went out to celebrate at Sumo's Japanese Steak House. It was great with just immediate family there...just the way they would have wanted it. We wanted to give them a "reception" since they had never had one, but time slipped up on us and I'm kinda glad it did...because it was nice to spend the time just with them.

On Wednesday, Shaun and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. 4 years and almost 3 kids later, I have really come to love him in a way that I couldn't have even imagined when we first started out on this journey. We did nothing extravagant this year...just enjoyed each other's company after the kids went to bed. It's wonderful to reminisce about all the good times spent together.

Then, this weekend, we also went to the MADD event that Tonya was in charge of and we all had a great time! Everything was well organized and from what I hear, the event raised a lot of money for the MADD organization...so GO TONYA!!

Anyways...most of you have already heard all this news...but I thought I would keep the rest of you who hasn't in the know about my life. We're just waiting for this little one to arrive these days. Hope everyone has a great week!

Here's a couple of the pictures from the hayride that we went on at my Uncle Byron's house on the day before Halloween...in which we got stuck on one of the uphills on the trail...fun...fun...and a little scary :) All the 'adults' had to get out so the trailer would be a little lighter, and all the kids and myself stayed in the trailer. Grandaddy got on the front of the tractor to put some weight on it to try and pull it out, and it must have helped because we finally got unstuck. Some of the kids freaked out a little...wait...I did too :)








The boys also had a really good time testing out the tractor when the hayride was over...that might have been their favorite part...



or was it riding the 4 wheeler...










or maybe even digging in the candy bucket...who knows :)

hmmmm...

It's Friday night and Shaun and the boys left a few hours ago to see Shaun's parents for the weekend. I thought I would be so happy when they left, because I would actually have time to get my thoughts together, do a few things that I've been wanting to do and needing to do...yet it was so hard to see them go. I'm such a baby and even cried when they left. I haven't been "by myself" for over 3 years now. I miss them already :)

We did our usual library run this morning to storytime and the boys were actually really good. Spencer even sat on the floor, on the blanket, and listened to the books. He is usually always trying to sit in a chair or on my lap or hold on to me. But today he was great! He even let me know when he needed to use the potty :) We didn't have any potty accidents while we were out...only when we got home and he got interested in playing outside did those happen. After the library, we took some lunch to my mom at work and visited for a little while. She hasn't been feeling well lately so hopefully she will soon. Then after lunch, it was homeward bound so I could get the boys' stuff packed for the weekend. Shaun had to work a little later than he thought so I went ahead and got most of the things ready so when he got home they could leave here and arrive there at a decent hour.

Yesterday Jenny was off work so we had our shopping outing with the boys. We both needed to pick up some baby shower gifts so we made a date of it. The boys were really good for the most part yesterday too. They surprise me sometimes :)

Well...I have to teach Relief Society on Sunday so I better get to finishing my lesson. I only teach every quarter but it seems like the time passes by so quickly and it's my turn again. So I hope everyone has a great weekend!! Later...

We had a great halloween! The boys and I went with Grandmother to run a few errands in the morning and found some really great bargains. I got all 3 boys' halloween costumes for next year and an extra costume, plus 2 pairs of animal slippers for less than 20 bucks at Old Navy. I was pretty excited considering that all of that was less than one of the costumes we bought this year. Then we went and had pizza. The boys were a little on the delirious side so my patience was a little thin, but we came home after lunch and they napped for a good little while. Then we got ourselves ready to go to the church for the halloween party. Spencer was way excited to put on his costume. And when I put Andrew's on him, all he wanted to do was to pull the ears straight up and try to get the hood off. But after a few minutes, he didn't even know it was there and was able to keep it on the whole night. After the halloween party, we went and saw "Mic-Mic" (Valencia) and Jenny and Brandon, who were greeting trick or treaters at a friend's house. Spencer kept on trying to "pet" Andrew the dalmation :) It was kinda funny. All in all we had a great time! Hope everyone else did!!
