Hope all the mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day! I'm always a little confused about what I should do on mother's day. Should I just lounge around all day and not really be a mother (because it's a day to celebrate me) and let Shaun take care of the kids, or should I just continue on doing what a mother does all day every day. Any ideas?? I did a little bit of both yesterday so I'm assuming there's no right answer :) I guess it's a day to reflect on the blessings of having children. All in all...being a mother is definitely more of a blessing than anything. At times it seems like the nervous breakdown is coming REAL soon, and the other days, life couldn't be better. The sweet face of an innocent child always outweighs any of the negative that could have gone on throughout the day. So I reflected yesterday on how blessed I am to have 3 healthy, beautiful children...and I couldn't forget about my wonderful husband who provides for our family so I can stay at home and raise our boys.
Today Shannon came over with Eli and Katie for a little while so the kids could play together. They had a great time...as you can see in Andrew's face :) His hands were filthy from playing with the tractor Shannon gave him for his birthday and the slobber all over his face just attracted all that black dirt when he rubbed his face. He and Spencer were definitely hard at play today and literally passed out tonight in their beds...that's what I like! Maybe we'll have to get them worn out more often before they go to bed :)
Just a funny story before I go to bed myself... At one of the weddings we went to on Saturday, Spencer was acting a little beside himself. Not quite sure what was going on in his head. But I was talking to someone I hadn't seen in a really long time, and I feel a little draft in my backend...Spencer was playing with the bottom of my dress and all of a sudden he lifted the whole back of my dress up to my waist. How embarassing!!! There wasn't too much I could do or say, and I hope everyone else was too occupied in their other conversations to pay much attention to my embarassment. I guess that's just another one of the "joys" of having kids :)
Hope everyone had a great Monday and has a great rest of the week!
