LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Highlights from Labor Day Weekend:

*Went to Discovery Place Museum Friday in Charlotte and saw the
"Body Worlds" exhibit - absolutely amazing - wish I could have taken pictures to show ... some might have thought it a little gruesome, but the human body intrigues me and this exhibit was extraordinary. The kids' museum there hasn't changed much since I went there years and years ago in school. The boys...including Shaun... had fun at the dinosaur exhibit and all the hands on stuff.

*We stayed at the
Double Tree Suites at Southpark - priceline.com is the way to go to get super nice hotel rooms for a great price

*Shaun helped his brother Justin, and his wife Shannon, move into their beautiful new house, while I tried to keep the boys occupied at the mall so they wouldn't be in anyone's way. They like to be a little too helpful sometimes. I love where Justin and Shannon live...they're close to everything. Living out in the "country" has its own advantages and disadvantages :)

*Went to Costco and South Park Mall and found some great deals.

*Came home Saturday night to get ready Sunday morning to head out to Shaun's parents until Monday night

*The kids had such a great time at Mike and Greta's house! Scott and Janette were there with Leighton and Madison so that made it even better because the boys had the opportunity to play with their cousins. We went to the beach, had some great Mike and Greta cooking - and Janette's homemade cinnamon rolls, and enjoyed each other's company and conversations. The boys enjoyed their usual tractor and horse rides. And of course they wanted to feed the horses every 15 minutes. Those horses have to be the best fed horses in all of Shallotte when we come to town :)

All in all it was a busy weekend but we had a great time spending it with family we hadn't seen in a while, as well as enjoying things we wanted to do. From all of the other blogs, it looks like everyone else had a great Labor Day weekend too :)
