boone

This weekend we were in Boone, NC . Shaun's parents rented some condos so we could all be here together, and most everyone left Sunday and we are staying until tomorrow. I'm super glad someone around here has DSL so I can connect to their internet that is way faster than ours at home :) Saturday night we went night skiing, or I should say just about everyone else but me went down the slopes numerous times. I only went down the baby slopes twice and that was very hesitantly. Shaun's brother Justin, used to teach little kids to ski so he was a big help on teaching me a couple of moves. I still couldn't get past my fear though. I still had flashbacks of when I was at BYU and Ashley and I went with these two guys and they really didn't tell us what to do or where to go once we got all our equipment on. So we got on a ski lift and went all the way to the top of the mountain...and not Boone "hills"...Utah mountains. I asked the guy how to get to the bottom...dumb question I know...and of course he said...You ski down the mountain. I was scared for my life...and the lives of everyone in my path. I skiied halfway down the mountain, then took my skis off and walked the rest of the way...with people above me on the ski lift saying...you know those things in your hands, they're skis and you put them on your feet and ski with them. I didn't really care at that point about all the taunting, all I was interested in was getting to the bottom. Ashley was a lot braver than I and skiied a few more times down the mountain. But since that incident, I haven't been back skiing until now. And it was still a little scary even now on the bunny slopes. Maybe I'll have to go back a few more times in the future to get my confidence up. I was just proud of myself that I at least made it to the bottom twice :)

One thing that the boys did enjoy was going tubing. I didn't think we were going to be able to make it because it started raining this afternoon, but Shaun was a great sport and wanted to take them regardless. So we all went to Sugar Mountain and Shaun took Spencer and Andrew tubing while I stayed with Carson in the car for the most part. I did get out a couple of times to take pictures. The boys were soaked from the rain, but they didn't seem to mind. Andrew didn't want to go at first, but after some coaxing he reluctantly went and then he had a blast. Hence his solo picture of the sad face, then his happy face with Spencer.

I've been blogging more on vacation than I do at home. I guess at home I always have the distractions of things that need to be done and here I can just kinda do what I want to do. And I am definitely taking advantage of it. So hope all is well with everyone else!

HOW FUN!!! I so want to go now before spring arrives! The boys look like they're having a blast! You did good, GG, you didn't let it get you after the Utah incident and kept on keeping on...Love ya! See ya when you get back.

I was wondering where you've been! I went skiing there once. Looks like you had fun. I hate snow-we've had more here this year than in the past 10 yrs I've been here, so if and when I ever get to SC I don't care to ever see it again!

Thanks so much for the interview, I sucked it up and got a ride this morning and.. ACED my 35 minute presentation. I was scared because my group only talked for 12 minutes, but once I got started I filled the rest of the time. The interview definitely helped a lot, thank you so much! Love you, Gigi! Have fun on your vacation!!
