Well...tonight I've determined I'm not cut out to be a painter in my next profession. I have spent almost two days painting one room and I still don't have it done. Granted I started at about 9 p.m. and it's now midnight, so maybe being tired has something to do with it, but still. Shaun even told me that if I was his employee he would probably have to fire me because I take too long :) Oh well.

Maybe in a couple more days it will be completely finished. I just can't do it with the boys because they would have paint all over them and the brand new carpet we just had installed. So we'll just have to burn the midnight oil for a little longer until it's done. Here's some before pictures and I'll have to post some after pictures when we're finished. That paneling is just a beast to paint.
I guess for those of you who don't know, we have been trying to move into my mom's house for the past 8 months or so, and we're finally so close now we can taste it. We've painted some of the rooms, got new carpet, put some laminate wood floors down, and did a few more cosmetic things. So hopefully by the weekend we will be almost done.

So that's what has been occupying our time lately. Today we did go to the library for storytime, took a friend to get some eyeglasses, then stopped by grandmother's to say hello.

Of course we ended up spending almost the whole afternoon, but the boys enjoyed making a homemade sailboat made out of part of a lowe's paint stirrer, some matches for posts, and a piece of a milk carton for the sail. They also got to help granddaddy pick some vegetables out of the garden. So I think they enjoyed their day.

And I was trying to take some pictures of Carson smiling and all I got was this at first...

Then I told him not to smile at me and he gave me about 30 pictures worth of some good cheesy grins ... go figure ...

Ginger! Wow, it's been forever. I'm so glad to see pics of your cute family. Freshman year seems like a long time ago - but it is great to get to catch up on all the things you're doing!
I saw your comment on Amie's blog. This is Kassie by the way. It looks like you've been keeping busy.
Carson -- what a stud!
I am so impressed that you would attempt to paint that late at night. I'm useless after James goes to bed - I usually just stare and the wall and blither.
I heard y'all made the big move! Whoa! Jack and I will be there on Sunday, we'll have to check it out! (Believe it or not, he's never been to either house, so he'll be like a fresh perspective. HAHAHA!) Can't wait to see y'all Sunday!
Love y'all,
Erika and Jack
