beach

The actual week of Halloween, we went to the beach and camped out at Ocean Lakes. I say camped out, but we used my Grandmother's camper so that kinda counts right :) We had such a great time. It was one of the busiest times in my life at home with everything else I had going on, but we needed a break and a trip to the beach was perfect, especially in the winter time because noone was there! The boys had the arcade to themselves, the beach almost to themselves, riding on the golfcart was fun without bumper to bumper traffic. Thanks to my uncle who let us borrow his limo golf cart. The boys thought they were in heaven just choosing which seat they were going to sit in.

Here's the madness on the miniature golf course. That was a joke. The boys are going to need some training on putt - putt, and maybe be a little older to understand the rules :)

The coolest thing about the beach trip was that as we were riding down the strip, Shaun saw these ships way out in the ocean, so we went to a public access entrance and walked along the beach to see what was going on. These ships were pumping sand from the bottom of the ocean and bringing it up on shore to replenish the beach. In the process, lots of whole conch shells were being brought up as well. The best part of all this was that we didn't have to walk up and down the beach for hours searching for the best shell. There was a lady who was making sure everyone didn't come into the construction zone while they were spreading the sand out, and she brought over all the conch shells we could want. The boys loved picking out their favorite one.

Our boy band cover photo :)

The boys feeding the ducks at the pond...and Carson eating more bread than he fed the ducks.

Here's how the boys slept in the camper. There were three bunkbeds in the back, but they wanted to be closer to us, so we made the table into a bed. I told them to pretend like they're sleeping...that really worked :)

We had such a great time "camping out". We only spent a few days in the campground, then headed a few minutes north to Shaun's parents to finish out the rest of our week. That's another post and update to come :)

I'm so glad you've updated. The pictures are really cute - especially the "boy band" photo. Take care and try to take it easy once in a while!
