I'm sure lots of you moms with preschoolers have heard of these books...but I found them a few months ago at the library, checked a couple of them out, and just fell in love with them. They are simple books that encourage early reading. Spencer really surprised me when after a couple of times going over some of the words in the book, he read it from cover to cover. This morning, he didn't have school, so we sat down to read some of the first set, and he got through books 1-5, with just a little help from me.
