the weekend

We spent a few days with the entire Wood clan this weekend for some pretty exciting things...of which I have no pictures of the most important events...oops. Ainsley (Shaun's sister) graduated high school this weekend and our niece, Ashlyn, had her blessing at church on Sunday.

Ainsley has turned out to be a beautiful, sweet, genuinely good young woman. She just has it together. We are so proud of her for not only graduating high school, but for all of her many other accomplishments as well.

Ashlyn is the best even tempered baby. She hardly even wimpered the 4 days we were there. Jason (her dad) gave the sweetest heart felt blessing at church. I am so glad we were able to make it. Here is the cute girl...

We do have lots of pictures of the more random things.

The boys had a blast pickin' taters again....they didn't get quite as black as they did last time :)

Spencer picking something other than potatoes...

Along with our fresh mashed potatoes, we also shucked some fresh corn to have for dinner. The kids really enjoyed helping and Madison took all the silk (I think that's what it's called...the hair stuff at the top of the corn) and tried to make a wig out of it :)

Carson LOVES cherries!!! He had some fresh cherries to eat, but wouldn't spit the pit out. I was a little nervous about him swallowing them, so Greta pulled out some maraschino cherries out of the jar and he ate enough to make his tummy hurt. He would have eaten the whole jar if I would have let him.

We went and saw the movie "UP" this weekend too. The last movie we saw in the theater was "Ratatouille" and Carson was a baby. We felt a little adventurous and decided they might do okay in the movie theater. The kids enjoyed the movie and were really good through the whole thing. Spencer kept on saying, "I really like this movie Mama." I think Carson liked the popcorn the most and Andrew must have gotten bored through the middle of the movie though because he fell asleep :) I have some more interesting photos of places Andrew has fallen asleep, but I'll have to post those another day.

All the kids were enough entertainment to last us for quite a while :) There was never a dull moment and once again, I was so grateful that I married into such a wonderful family.

And here's the real nut that kept us all laughing...

Love the picture of Spencer "picking"!

And marachino cherries should be outlawed :P Give me the fresh ones, baby!

Sounds like y'all had a great time. Jason's baby is adorable! BY the way, Spencer's gonna love having that "pickin'" picture in his scrapbook to show to future girlfriends. : )
