So…the boys had their first soccer game today. I’ve been kinda looking forward to soccer because it’s a fall sport and the weather is cooler, and I don’t have to have sweat marks…
SO. NOT. FALL. WEATHER. TODAY. AT. 5:45 P.M.!!!!
It’s all good though. The kids had a good time playing, and I really like the coach we have. He’s a play your best kind of coach, but in the end, it’s “Did you have fun??” Even though they won today, the most important thing to him was that the kids had fun. There was a lady on the sideline pulling for the other team… getting all worked up over some call that the referees did or didn’t pick up on when they should or should not have, and that got me thinking…they are 6 and 7 years old…some just 5 years old. Most of these kids are never going to be professional soccer players. They play because it’s fun and because for us parents…they get to release A LOT of energy. Anyways…it’s all good. Here’s the boys in their great purpley grape uniforms. Not quite sure whey they have to have purple ones for baseball and soccer. They just need to give that color up all together.
Spencer asked me in the car when we were on the way to the game, was their game going to be on TV? Then on the way home he replied, “Man, we looked like professionals out there.” Goodness, maybe he does want to be a professional. But then again, every new experience with him, he gives it his all and thinks that’s what he’s going to do or be when he grows up.
