Carson’s prayer at night has been the same for a few months now. Here it goes…
“Heavenly Fader,
Thank you for many blessings.
Please help us be nice at school…don’t pinch, don’t fight, don’t push, don’t kick, don’t say ugly words, don’t punch, help us not to say bad words…” He knows he gets in trouble a LOT at home for saying ugly words…
And then lately it’s been,
“Please help us to go to Nana’s, Grandpa Keith’s, Gran and Papa’s, and Grandmothers. Please help us to go on another trip.”
And tonight he added,
“Please help me to go on a mission.”
I just love those sweet innocent prayers!
When Carson spent the night with my mom a few weeks back, they were saying the blessing on the food and he started with this routine prayer all the way to "don't pinch, don't fight, etc." Then he stopped, cocked his head to the side with one eye open and asked my mom, "Is this the prayer for the food?" And started all over with the right prayer ☺
We’ve been trying to do better about reading our scriptures at night with the boys. We finally got into a routine of reading an article out of “The Friend” magazine, and then Spencer reads a scripture he picks out. I finally dusted off the “Book of Mormon for Families” my mom gave us a couple of years ago for Christmas, and we have started from the very beginning with that…only reading a few scriptures and paragraphs at a time. At the rate we are going, it will probably take us from now until Spencer graduates high school for us to finish it, but what’s most important is that we finally have a good routine that Andrew won’t let us forget ☺ And to think it’s only taken us 7 years…LOL…

How sweet! My kid almost always refuses to pray at all... Good job, Ginger and Shaun!
