oreos and bunnies...

Yesterday when we got home from the doctor's office, the boys were asleep in the car again so I rolled the windows down and opened the doors so they wouldn't suffocate and just let them sleep. I know it sounds like I leave them in the car to sleep a lot...but sometimes that's the only time they'll sleep for more than a half hour. I watched them through the window and left our front door open in case I heard any crying. After they woke up, we stayed outside for a little while. Did I already say that I love springtime weather....not too hot and not too cool...just perfect. Well I pulled Spencer and Andrew around in the wagon for a bit and then Spencer wanted to get out. He came in and got a snack cup of Oreos that his Gran had given Andrew in his easter basket and wanted to open them up. I told him no because we would be eating dinner in a little while. He got back in the wagon with Andrew...still holding the oreos. I wasn't too worried because I didn't think he could open them up. I pulled them around for a little longer and then I had to use the bathroom so I parked them in front of the front door, left the door open, and when I came back a couple of minutes later, Spencer had gotten into those oreos...given Andrew some...and they looked like this...little black and white mouths! It's amazing what kids can do in a matter of minutes!! Too funny!

Jenny called me yesterday to see if we would be at home for the afternoon and I told her yes...and about 5:30 or so...she and Brandon come driving up with a little bunny in an Easter basket for Spencer and Andrew.

It's the cutest! We named him Oreo because he does look like a little oreo. He's got a black face and a black bum and white in between. It was just an oreo kind of day yesterday I guess! :)

I had wanted to get the boys a bunny for easter and Shaun kept on saying no. We had saw the cutest mini bunnies at Tractor Supply Company when we were looking for Andrew a wagon for his birthday, and Spencer loved them. I thought it would be a cute first pet with not too much maintenance. I kept on telling Shaun I was going to go by there and get the bunny but he said...I don't think so! So I found out how to get around me actually having to buy the bunny. I told Jenny about the little bunny and she said, "Do you think Shaun would get mad if we got the bunny for the boys?" I thought that was the perfect plan...and it worked out. The only stipulation was that I have to clean the cage out. Bunny poop makes great fertilizer (so says Jenny) so I just throw all of it into our flower garden and we don't have to worry about buying plant food :) It's not too much responsibility.

Last night we went over to Brandon and Jenny's to eat pizza and see their new garage addition and we got ready to leave and I don't know how Spencer did it but he fell all the way down their front stairs and just about gave us all a heart attack including himself. I checked him out and he didn't seem to have any missing teeth or scratches or bruises. That's a miracle. He must have been looking inside the door and backed up a little too far. That's the only explination I have because he's always been real careful about going up and down the stairs. If he thinks he can't do it he grabs a hand to help him. We're just glad he's okay.

When we got home Shaun let Spencer play with the bunny for a minute before he went to bed and he didn't even want to come upstairs. It took a lot of coaxing to pry him from Oreo but he finally gave in after a few tears. He came down the stairs this morning and that's the first thing he wanted to do was play with Oreo. We went outside for a little while to clean the cage and we let Oreo play in the grass...the poor bunny might be terrorized having Spencer chase him around trying to get him to eat the food. Oh well...I'm glad to see that Spencer likes him.

Well...I hope everyone has a great day! Here's a couple more pictures of the boys... Spencer's enjoying his milk on the picnic table that we got Andrew for his birthday and Andrew was feeling better yesterday afternoon so it's good to have some smiles!
