Spencer has been excited about his first spring break. And I hope he's had fun this week! The thing I've enjoyed the most was not having to get up and get ready and have the kids out the door by 8:30 every morning. 2 out of the past 4 days, I haven't left the house and that includes not taking a shower until after lunchtime. Nice!! I hope we do okay next year when it will be having everyone ready and out of the house by 7:30 :)
Monday, we bummed around the house. Cleaning took a back seat and I just enjoyed the boys. Something that doesn't happen everyday. And it was the first almost perfect day in a long time where we had close to no fighting, and everyone was content. So I'm grateful for those days :) One cute thing that Andrew said as we were outside planting a couple of seeds that he had gotten, was in regards to all the wind we had that day. He said, "Mommy, when it's really windy like this, isn't that just God plugging up his fan and blowing it down here?" Then another day as it was drizzling rain, he said kinda the same thing, "When it rains like that, does God get his water hose and point it down here?" The mind of a child :)

Tuesday we took a tour of the firestation with some kids and parents from Spencer's preschool and that was informative as well as being fun. The kids had a short video about fire safety, a firefighter dressed in his gear and explained the importance of not being scared if you saw him in his uniform. I thought they did a great job of explaining it was still the same person even though he had all the gear on.

They got to see all the different rooms of the firestation, and then see the firefighter slide down the pole, and then a trip around the block in the firetruck. Super fun for the boys, especially since Andrew wants a firefighter birthday party.

They practice putting out fires with all kinds of things around the house...tennis rackets, hammers, shoes...
Waiting for the fireman to slide down the pole...
Yesterday we went to the library for storytime, CiCi's pizza with TaMara and Zack, then enjoyed some time at the bookstore while the boys played with the train set. I ran to a couple more stores, then headed home.

Today was the 2nd day this week I have not left the house. The boys slept in a little this morning, so that gave me a chance to have some peace and quiet. Then once they were up for the day, the busyness started. Right before lunchtime, they were playing "mailman" and came into our office to hand me some mail and I had the idea of making them some "mail bags". I had some extra fabric I have had since Spencer's 3rd birthday party so I sewed them up real quick and Andrew has barely wanted to put it down. I'm glad :)
Hope everyone else continues to enjoy their spring break! A few more days then back to the daily grind....

I LOVE breaks from school too! Glad you enjoyed your week!
Sounds like a really fun week. I'm glad you've all had a great spring break. I love the mail bags you made them -- you're so creative! Have a great weekend and I'll see you tomorrow for Easter! Can't wait to hide eggs at Grandmother's with the boys!!!
Cute mailbags! I'm impressed with your craftiness! Of course, I'm impressed any time someone can use the words "sewing" and "real quick" in the same sentence...
Adorable mail bags! What a creative, fun mommy you are.
