This past weekend has definitely had its share of ups and downs.

Ups:
Shaun and I were able to go see Jim Brickman at the Newberry Opera House on Friday. I just happened to ruin his surprise when I checked the credit card statement a couple of weeks ago. He had me going for a solid month wondering what my Mother's Day surprise was though. We had a great night... maybe he should try this more often instead of once every 6 years :)
Downs:
Spencer got the stomach bug that Carson had had the night before, while my mom was keeping him and threw up all in the car.
Ups:
Saturday I was able to see Tasha, a girl that lived in our freshman dorm at BYU, that I haven't seen in 10 years. Ashley and I met her down in Charleston at Seabrook Island (BEAUTIFUL!!!) just to hang out on the beach for the day. We had a great time catching up with each other's lives. Even the walk down to the beach was breathtaking! Tasha did catch a glimpse of a snake lurking in the marshy water though. So I'm glad that none of us fell in. Thanks to Tasha for letting us in on her fun :)
Downs:
Spencer continued to be sick and threw up in the car again on the way home from his tball game with Shaun.
Sunday had a lot of ups and downs too. Shaun was up during the middle of the night, and not just keeping an eye out to make sure Spencer didn't get sick in his bed again. He was up and had caught the stomach bug too. So he didn't go to church.
I debated on whether I should even take the boys to church if they weren't feeling well....but Spencer seemed like he was okay (and he was) so I decided I would give Shaun a break and a chance to feel better and took them on to church with me.
Andrew wouldn't go to the "big primary" class as he calls it, so he came in the nursery with me...at least I would let him in the nursery until they broke up into the smaller classes, and then he would go to his Sunbeam class. Well it just happened, that Spencer's teacher wasn't there so Spencer's class was combined with Andrew's class, and Andrew wouldn't go in his class because there were "too many children" in there. I tried to talk him into going to his class, bribe him, threaten him...nothing worked. This is so draining for me EVERY Sunday. I'm not quite sure how to get him over his shyness. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do??
So after a battle, church ended at noon and I picked up Spencer and Carson from their classes, then brought them home to Shaun. I then headed back to chapel to start round 2 of church for the day at 12:30. We had the Blythewood Ward Conference and we had to teach Relief Society. My emotions somehow got the best of me and I was on the verge of tears almost all day. The meetings were great though and I definitely got some ideas on ways I need to improve the things I'm doing in my life. One of my favorite quotes from the day was from President Giles, and he said, "As long as I'm green, I'll continue to grow. As soon as I think I'm ripe, I'll rotten."
I crashed on Sunday night at 8:00, felt better yesterday, and even better today. That's life though. Ups and downs. We wouldn't be mortal if we didn't experience them both.

I might try talking to Andrew's primary teacher and making them aware of the issue. Jake has to drop Aiden off in primary or he won't go. But the primary presidency is always there to get him to come in and sit down with his class.
I had a flashback seeing that pic of the three of you! Sent me back 11 years...a sweet feeling. So fun that you were all able to get together!
