spencer

The last week at school for Spencer was lots of just plain fun. They had Fun Day where they had face painting, a bouncy house, games, sno cones, and a trackless train. Looking at Spencer's teeth, he really enjoyed all the sno cones :) And the picture of Andrew and Carson I wanted to capture because every day when we would drop Spencer off at school, they would want to jump off the ledge on the stairs. Usually they were fighting just like in the picture on who was going to do it first. After they would jump off the little ledge, Carson would have to find acorns on the ground as we were walking back to the car. I learned to not really be in any kind of hurry because if I was, it would do no good and drama would ensue. I would also usually have to chase after Carson to get him to slow down before he got to the end of the sidewalk. Fun times...little things I'm kinda going to miss when Spencer starts Kindergarten.

A few of us moms were in charge of the end of the year party for Spencer's class and we had the kids make their own edible "leis" with fruit loops. I had the inflatable palm trees from the dollar tree already at home, so we used those and spruced up their room a little to make it more festive. For snack, we had them make their own ice cream sundaes. The kids really enjoyed this and some of the kids REALLY like toppings on ice cream. They even came back for seconds and thirds. Sorry to all the moms if their kids were bouncing off the walls or if they had upset tummies from all the "junk" :) We were going to read a book too, but the kids wanted Mrs. Ashley to tell them a ghost story. It was so funny watching how intent their faces were, hanging on every word she said. I'm so grateful that Spencer had this opportunity to go to preschool and for his wonderful teachers that just loved the kids and helped them learn so much!

Last Friday, Spencer had his little preschool graduation and it was absolutely adorable. They had everyone walk in from the back of the gym and sit with their class. While we were waiting for them to come in, they had a slide show going of all their pictures throughout the year for us to watch. After the kids all sat down, they had another slide show of a couple of baby pictures and then some recent pictures. In the background, the teacher said the answers to a couple of questions they had asked the kids previously.

Here's Spencer's answers:

Spencer wants to be a rock star when he grows up.

He wants to do that somewhere in North Carolina, making about 12 dollars.

So we shall see how all of that pans out in the future :)

I was a little upset I didn't get any good pictures of Spencer during the graduation. The one of him walking in was super blurry because he was walking so fast. And my camera just does not do well in dim light so all of the other ones were blurry as well. Oh well...here's a couple of pictures after the fact...
