This is just the beginning of many wonderful adventures that he will have. Last night, we talked about how to be a good example and all the things I almost felt like I was cramming in before he was "on his own". The sweetest thing was peeking my eyes open as Shaun was giving him a fathers blessing and seeing Spencer with his arms folded, eyes closed, head bowed and just grinning. I am so grateful to have a husband who holds the priesthood and is worthy to exercise it. What a blessing in our lives.
Today in the car rider line, when we went to pick him up, they kept calling his name on their radios and we didn't see him coming out from the gym anywhere. I guess he must have fallen asleep in the gym from getting up so early :) ...but finally he emerged and came almost running to the car, and was so excited to see us... and the feelings were mutual. I thought he would be too exhausted to talk, but he almost recited their whole routine for the day.
And tonight when he went to bed, his last words were, "I can't wait to go to school tomorrow!"
So here's to early rising, early to bed, hopefully making us healthy, wealthy, and wise :) {I think the early rising part is going to get to me too}...
Hope everyone else had a great first day of school today too :)

Gigi - I am so excited for Spencer and we can't wait to hear about "flower garden".. haha I love that! I cried my eyes out when I read this, the first great-grandchild is growing into quite a smart little man!
LOVED the post!! Seems like yesterday we were rounding them all up for "preschool" at our homes. So glad to hear he had a GREAT first day - he is such a WONDERFUL little boy! (Take care and we'll have to get together again soon!) :)
I'm so glad Spencer had a great first day of school. He and Eli will have lots to talk about next time we get together.
What a wonderful post! Glad it went well. It's going to be a rude awakening next week for us when we have to get up and GO somewhere. The kids have finally been sleeping in. : )
So excited for him! And for you!
I will forever cherish this special morning whenever Spencer came running down the driveway and knocked on my door, gave me a big hug and said he was so excited to go to school...was so eager to show me his little bookbag and lunch box, and oh my,...tears streamed down my face as I watched you and Shaun and your little boys pull out of the driveway together as a family taking little Spencer to school for his 1st day,..what a precious sight. I vividly remember your own 1st day of kindergarten and how YOU were just like your little Spencer, so excited on "your" 1st day of school, smiling and eager,.... about 25 years ago. Enjoy these precious moments, they fly by so quickly. You and Shaun are such wonderful parents to my precious little grandsons and I admire and love you so much. Love you ALL forever,... ~Mom~ (~Nana~)
