Here's some pics of Andrew...let me explain...and it's not a Halloween costume. I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and Grandmother went with me and kept the boys while I went in. Then we went to a couple of places to do some shopping and before I knew it...I had lost track of time and realized I hadn't changed Andrew's diaper since around lunchtime. This was about 5:30 or so when I came to this realization and he had soaked his clothes. We went back to Grandmother's and Shaun was going to come pick us up...but in the meantime Andrew didn't have any clothes to wear, because once again, I had forgotten to bring an extra changing of clothes. So Grandmother found one of her shirts so Andrew "wouldn't get cold" while his clothes were getting dried.





I guess we have another boy starting his obsession with shoes that are a little too big for his feet.

As I mentioned earler...we had a surplus of birthdays in September...10 to be exact just in our family...but here are just a few of the birthday pictures. Katie Benson had her first birthday, and Shannon did an excellent job of creating the cutest ladybug birthday theme. As you can see the cake was absolutely adorable. Shannon is so talented at stuff like that. The cupcakes she made for the kids were so cute too!! For Mic-Mic's Birthday, we all surprised her with a birthday dinner at Sumo's Japanese Steak house. She was in shock when we got there that this was actually for her. To get her out of the house, I told her I wanted to go to the movies with her and Addison and I needed to stop by and get a gift certificate for Mom from Sumo's since we were already on that side of town. The look on her face when we walked in and everyone shouted surprise, was priceless. A couple of her friends from out of town came so I think she had a great time. Then for Grandmother's and Marshall's birthday we went to Harbor Inn and had a birthday dinner there for the two of them since their birthdays are a day apart. I don't really have too many more pictures of the other birthdays we had. But we had a great time celebrating with all of our friends and family throughout the whole month!

Jenny gave the best baby shower for me on Tuesday. I wasn't really expecting anything...considering this is our 3rd boy...but it sure was nice for everyone to come out and help us celebrate the birth of this child. Every child is definitely unique and special! The food was absolutely wonderful...and the company was even more wonderful. Thanks again to everyone for all the fun clothes (poor Andrew has had nothing but hand me downs from Spencer so this baby will definitely have a few more options to wear) and all the other goodies! I am just so grateful for the blessing of having such great friends!!

Here are some of the pictures we've taken over the last little bit. I LOVE this slide.com idea...it downloads pictures so much faster than blog does on our computer so you might be seeing a lot of those little slide shows :) The boys woke up a little too soon from their naps for me to download all of the pictures, so we'll have to say to be continued... Hope you all are having a great Tuesday! Not too much has happened the past couple of days. We've stayed inside pretty much, and the boys have played while I have started going through and cleaning out the items for the new baby...seeing what I have and don't have. I had a dream last night that my water broke at church and we had to rush to the hospital and I wasn't prepared at all for the new baby to come...so I guess I better start getting prepared, before that dream becomes a nightmare. :) Have a great one!

maybe it's time to update...

Well...I guess everyone is getting tired of looking at the goats...I know I sure would. :) It has been crazy busy the past little while. The end of September seemed like nothing but birthdays and birthday parties, and that continued into October. Then came along planning events for Relief Society and getting ready for the new baby...still don't have a name yet... and then Shaun being on the internet every night to try and find us a vehicle that will accommodate 3 car seats. The frustrating part about that is that we have almost bought 4 vehicles off of the internet and each time something has happened with the transaction...the vehicle gets sold, we get outbid, or we just don't make it to the place before they close. Oh well...life goes on. And it definitely has. Our search is still on for a car, van, SUV, whatever and the countdown is hitting the 4 week mark for baby number 3's arrival. I will update with lots of pictures later...It's 11 :00 and it takes at least an hour and a half for our computer to download the amount of pictures I need to. :) So we'll save that for tomorrow or when the boys simultaneously take a couple hour nap. That is if I'm not "nesting" and have to clean up everything in sight constantly and going through things and figuring out where everything is going to go in this house when the baby arrives. So y'all don't give up on me yet with this blogger thing :)

feeding the goats

I put the boys down early for their naps with some easy going church music and I must say I'm about to fall asleep with them. I guess it's true that music relaxes. Yesterday we had lunch with at my grandmother's house with a few friends from church and had a great time. Did I ever mention that my grandmother is a great cook? :) After lunch, Spencer and Andrew started getting a little restless and my grandmother mentioned to them that they could ride the golf cart. Well that got their interest peaked and off they go through the house searching for the golf cart keys ... ending in success. So here comes Spencer like a proud turkey with the keys in his hand ready to head outside. The past couple of weeks when we have gone for golf cart rides, we have gone across the road where there is a field with goats in it. We usually take them some corn to eat or there were some tree branches with leaves on it the past few times we've gone. The leaves have turned brown though and I'm not quite sure why the goats won't eat them. I thought goats eat just about anything...I know the grass is so low where they are you can barely tell there used to be grass there :) Well this time, grandmother had some old bread that was going to be thrown away so we took that down to the field. The boys loved carrying their own bag of bread...as you can tell from the pictures. So that was their highlight of the day...feeding the goats. They love being outside and definitely love animals. Spencer only likes the "baby" goats though and makes sure you know ... "I don't like that big one". The "big" one always uses its horns to buck the other ones out of the way to get to the food. Needless to say, it just seems like a really mean and selfish goat. The first time we went to feed the goats, the "big" one just about ate Spencer's hand off so it scared him a little bit. I think I would be scared too :)





I just want to thank my Mom for keeping the boys for me on Tuesday. I had a couple of things that I really wanted to do that I knew would take just about the whole day, and wasn't quite sure how I could go to both of them without getting someone to keep them all day, so she took off work and helped me out. I am really blessed to be able to have a Mom who sacrificed her time so I could have some time of my own. Thanks Mom!!

mommy/spencer date night

Spencer and I had a date night on Monday. We went to eat at Moe's over at Sandhills and then went to see Jenny play soccer. It's not very often that he and I just get to go out and enjoy each other's company. I think he had a good time...I know I sure did. I think we brought Jenny's soccer team bad luck though. This was the first game that they had lost the whole season ... sorry girls :) I brought my camera to take some pictures of the game but my batteries ran out right after I had taken a couple of pictures of Spencer while we were eating. Oh well...I think it's about time to get a new camera ... or maybe just new batteries will do :)

crazy week

This week has been jam packed. My birthday was on Tuesday and the boys and I enjoyed eating outside at Chick-fil-A and running a few "errands". More like shopping I guess you could say. I called Shaun on my way home and told him not to worry about stopping by somewhere on his way home to get me a present...I had just picked out something myself. :) Whatever works, right?? We had a party over at my aunt Valencia's house and enjoyed some pizza and WONDERFUL red velvet cake and homemade ice cream. My kind of party! Here's some pictures that highlight everyone that was there.

Mom had flowers delivered to the house for me...how SWEET!!


It rained all day on Wednesday and gave us a great excuse to stay in all day and watch some movies...or one movie over and over again. Spencer and Andrew both love watching this one train movie and will actually sit there for the whole 30 minutes of the show. It was kinda nice not to have anything planned or scheduled for at least one day of the week!

We had a birthday party on Thursday to go to at Bounce Around...the "inflatable fun house", but Spencer and Andrew weren't too enthused about going in and jumping on all the fun things. Oh well...maybe it was the big crowd that intimidated them a little. Who knows. We had to leave early though because I had a meeting to go to at church, so I guess it was good they didn't get too involved.

On Friday, my grandmother, her friend Maria and I, fed about 60 missionaries lunch at their zone conference. We just went by Walmart and got a few of the 6 foot long subs and that was the way to go. Nothing too difficult is what I'm all about. It was a little more work getting everything ready and cut and set up for them, so next time I'll ask a few more people to help out. We had a good time though.

Saturday we had our Relief Society Enrichment Meeting and had an antiques roadshow. It was fun...I didn't have any antique pieces to have appraised or be showcased but it was fun to go and see all the other sisters' prized possessions. Afterwards, Mom and I went with Junko to the Tot Trade, which is like a huge consignment shop for everything you could think of that has to do with a baby and kids. It was absolutely INSANE the amount of people that were there. I guess the word is definitely getting out about it. I did find a few items for the boys, such as winter coats and jeans and stuff, so I guess you could say it was worth it. We looked around for about 30 minutes and then waited in line to purchase our items another hour and a half. CRAZY!! The boys stayed with their first real babysitter, other than my mom or Grandmother, and they did rather well while I was gone. It was my cousin Addison and they already knew her, so that made the transition easier. I was a little worried about Andrew because he cries just about everytime I leave, but he didn't shed one tear...YEAH!! Maybe we're making a little bit of progress...slowly, but surely :)

After we got back from the Tot Trade, we had another birthday party to go to for Will. He had a tractor theme birthday and that was right up Spencer and Andrew's alley. It was a great party!














We stayed for a little while then had to run off to Home Depot before they closed so Shaun could get some measurements for some windows. Every time we go to Lowe's or Home Depot, or any other kind of home improvement store that has lawnmowers in front, temptation, temptation, temptation. We give in every time and the boys "drive" the lawnmowers. Spencer runs to one, giving the steering wheel a little turn, the gears a shake and then he's on to the next one doing the same thing. It's the little things that intrigue these boys and keep them occupied. I told Shaun the other day I was going to stop buying the boys books because Andrew would rather have a Tractor Supply Company or Lowes sales paper that has tractors and lawnmowers in it rather than anything else. I had even thrown the sales paper in the trash a few days ago, and Andrew spotted it on top of the trash can and got it out. Silly boy!

Spencer and Andrew absolutely pooped after a long day of playing. When we tried to put Andrew's pjs on, he squirmed his way up the bed until he got right beside Spencer.






In memory of my grandparent's dog, Chocolate Drop. She was a great pup for a many years. She loved to eat peppermints and turn around in a circle to get them. Mom found her this morning right by the driveway. It was a little sad because Spencer and Andrew kept looking out the window at my grandparent's house calling Chocolate Drop and wanting to give her a mint when we left.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! This last picture is one that I'm not too fond of...but Mom came to the house this past week and asked me if I knew what was beside the door. I had no idea what she was talking about, but when I took a peek, I just about had a heart attack...this huge writing spider. Spiders give me the heeby jeebies...however you spell that word :)

All of my boys are still snoring...so I better try and get a rest before they all wake up :) Have a great day!!

and the obsession continues...

with boots. Shaun got a new pair of work boots this weekend and Spencer said, "I like these boots", and hobbled around the room, trying oh so hard not to fall. They came up to his knees so it was a little difficult not to fall :) He also used them as a stool when he knelt down because they fit right under his bum and were sturdy enough to hold him up. Crazy kid :)

Spencer also loves his blankets that he's had since he was a baby. There's 4 of them, the white one being his one and only "blankie", but he loves for us to tuck him in at night. Sometimes he'll say to only cover him up with just one and then other nights it's just about all of them. He's almost getting too big and just one won't cover him up anymore :)

Andrew's the total opposite. If you try to tuck him in at night, the blankets are off of him before you can even turn your head. The kid just doesn't like to be covered up. Once again...it's funny how opposite kids from the same family can be :)

And those are my thoughts at 5 a.m. because I can't sleep. Hope everyone enjoys the nice weather that we're supposed to have today...

the weekend

This past Thursday I went to the doctor for a checkup and had to drink the not - too - bad - glucose drink so they could test my sugar level. I passed thank goodness. I've had the lime flavor and the orange flavor and they weren't the best tasting things but this time I had the fruit punch and it just tasted like HI-C fruit punch. Like I said...not too bad. It sure was the best out of the 3. Everything still looks fine with the baby. The only problem was that he's breech. The doc said the baby had plenty of time to turn, so it wasn't really anything to worry about. I certainly hope not.

On Friday, I took Spencer and Andrew to the library again for the kids' story time. They've enjoyed it pretty good the few times we've gone. Spencer listens a little more intently than Andrew does...Andrew's attention span gives out after about 10 minutes. But it was fun and we were able to borrow a few books about their favorite subjects...trains, planes, and automobiles. After the library we went to the zoo again...I've definitely taken advantage of the family pass this past year. With school being back in session, there was hardly anyone there so we were able to take our time and read some of the interesting facts about the animals. I hadn't planned on really doing anything except coming back home after we went to the story time, so I didn't bring my camera with me. But I wish I would have because the giraffe named "Ginger" :) came right up to everyone...wanting food of course. Sounds like the pregnant me :) But we could have touched her. She thought Spencer had some food because he had his hand out to "pet her" and she came really close to his face and scared him a little. He was a little hesitant to get too close after that, but we really enjoyed being up close to the giraffe.

Yesterday we were out and about shopping...not really up to buying anything...but just looking. We did get a couple of new books for the boys. Shaun said he was a little burnt out on reading the same stories over and over again at bedtime so we needed some new ones. The boys didn't mind that. :)

And today was a normal Sunday for us. Thank goodness the boys get tired from church and not being able to take a nap at their normal time, so they sleep for a few hours and give us a chance to nap as well. LOVE IT!!

a few weeks worth

We're back ... I guess you could say ... from a blogger vacation. It takes so long to download pictures on our slow computer, sometimes it just doesn't seem worth it. But the boys are sleeping and the house is mostly clean so I guess I can make the time to blog today.

We went out and about with Grandmother this morning and the boys got spoiled rotten by getting a book AND a car each at TJ Maxx ...whoa ... that doesn't happen too often :) We also tried a new pizza buffet place kinda like CC's Pizza and it was great! Andrew loved his club crackers ... wouldn't touch a piece of pizza for anything. He's such a mess! Not quite sure how to get the little fella to eat a variety of foods.

The other night Andrew climbed into Spencer's bed because he saw a book he wanted and ended up not being able to get back out. And Spencer loves trying on any kind of shoes. Mom brought these boots over the other day for me to try and Spencer LOVES them. I told him they're a little too big for him and all he says is..."No...they fit me." Whatever floats his boat :)




Mom's birthday was on August 21. We stopped by her office and surprised her with a balloon and some flowers. When we got there though, two others had beat us to the punch with flowers. She must be pretty special or something :)




Spencer enjoyed her birthday gift I think as much as she did :)

And he definitely got all tied up somehow in her long phone cord and couldn't get out. I guess he got a little too excited and wasn't paying much attention.







That night we went out to dinner at LHOP to celebrate and had a great time. We were also celebrating Susan's birthday as well, so they both got their wishes as they blew out the candles.

Last Friday, Spencer and Andrew got to see their first movie, CARS, with Shannon and Eli. They behaved quite well for 2 year olds and a 2 hour movie. I was surprised. I forgot my camera but you can go to Shannon's blog and see their cute picture in front of the poster for CARS.

Shaun's been working on the weekends on our house downtown and they've done a lot of demolition ... and they've also done a lot of building as you can see from the stairs Shaun built. They have turned it back into a one family home instead of the duplex it was. It's been a slow process getting things done, but the thing is they're getting done :)

I guess that's about it...we've had lazy days with the rain, and fun, activity packed days the past couple of weeks. Hope everyone's having a good middle of the week...one more day closer to the weekend. YEAH!! Chao!

sunday, schmunday...

Today was a good Sunday. We had Stake Conference for church today and all the speakers were really good. Afterwards, we had a picnic in the car since it was too hot and humid to really go outside and enjoy it. We had brought some turkey sandwiches and chips and stuff and parked under a shade tree near the state capitol to enjoy it. Spencer loved being able to get out of his car seat and sit in the front with Shaun and I and eat his food. I think they both were saying "cheese" at the same time in the first picture :) Here was Andrew while we were enjoying our lunch...nothing but shut-eye. He wore himself ... and us out at conference.

Jenny and Brandon stopped by later this afternoon and Brandon had brought his 4 wheeler over to show us. Spencer and Andrew of course wanted to take a spin. Spencer had fun with Oscar as well.

Before Brandon and Jenny left, Spencer was bringing out his construction paper out of the playroom and handed a piece to Brandon...who in turn got a little creative and ended up scaring Andrew. Spencer just laughed...along with the rest of us...by the psychotic nature of one of our own :)

We've been rather busy this week. Had something to do just about every day and it's caught up to me now. Shaun was nice enough to take the boys out for a little bit on Friday, and leave me to myself, so I could get caught up on some of the cleaning around here. It's amazing how fast things pile up when you don't do a little bit each day. But thank goodness I have a wonderful husband who picks up the slack sometimes and helps me out in one way or another :)

At my doctor's appointment on Wednesday, they confirmed that it's still a boy. And I got the news that I gained 9 pounds in a month and a half...INSANE!! I better cut back on the chocolate milk I guess :)
