One of the excitements of the day he was probably getting ready for was the few steps he took by himself this morning.
It was like night and day...he just all of a sudden got up by himself, got his balance and tried to walk. His stiff knee kept him from going too far...or maybe it was his excitement feeding off of ours that kept his upper half trying to go ahead of his bottom half...ending up in falling on his bum. But it was sure good to see some progress. OH...for those of you who don't know yet...Andrew didn't have his surgery on Wednesday because he was running a fever on Monday night and Tuesday. I'm thinking the fever was only because of his back molars coming in but it was a fever nonetheless. I called the doctor to see if that was a problem and the nurse told me that we would have to reschedule because they wouldn't do the surgery with any kind of fever or sickness. In some ways it was a blessing in disguise. We got to see Andrew walk a little this morning instead of dressing wounds...and too I think that maybe this "thing" that's on the back of his knee could heal itself over time, without having surgery. We can only hope right?Let's see...here's a couple more pictures of our Boone trip. I know it's a little late to post them but there's not too many more photos I wanted to share!

Spencer feeding the goats at the Tweetsie Railroad Park and absolutely loving it. They put the feed in an ice cream cone and after you were done feeding the animals, you just fed them the ice cream cone as well.

Andrew and Daddy riding the chair lift up to "Miner's Mountain". It was a little scary with little ones, seeing that there was no real way to keep them from either sliding out or tumbling over the rail except the death grip hold. Spencer and I were in the car right in front of them.

Andrew 2 minutes into our walk leaving the park and going to the car. He had too much fun :) Spencer was in the back of the stroller nodding but not completely falling asleep.
Last Sunday we were at Brandon and Jenny's for Oscar's first birthday party. He was very well behaved for the occasion :) Here's the birthday dog...enjoying his "birthday cake"...
and the balloons that Brandon tied to him...I'm sure he loved that!
Well... I hope all you dads had a great Father's Day today. We sure had a great one. It's days like today where we have a day to celebrate our dads, but I am truly grateful just about everyday that I have a wonderful husband who is such a great daddy to our 2 boys. He has the patience and loving nature about him that I lack at times. I am genuinely blessed in my life to have what I have! Hope everyboday had a great weekend!
