Last week we went to Shaun's parents house for a few days and had a great time. My sister in law, Janette, and her kids, Leighton and Madison, were up there as well so Spencer and Andrew had a fun time playing with their cousins.
In the picture, Leighton is trying to coax Andrew to join in...so that's why Andrew's not in any of the pictures. And just as I got them all together, the battery in my camera gave out...perfect timing, huh? Oh well.
The highlight of the trip was of course riding the tractor with Papa...that's always a hit! Andrew and Spencer just sit there observing everything, not saying a word. Madison was a little hesitant about riding the tractor, citing that it was for "boys". And Leighton helped Papa "drive".It was really good seeing everyone. I get so spoiled when I go up there because Greta always cooks great meals and even kept the kids so Janette and I could go shopping at the outlet malls in Myrtle Beach.
On Saturday, Shaun had it all planned out that he was going to sleep late, since that's basically the only day that he can sleep in. The boys had another agenda on their mind...both of them woke up at 6 a.m. ready to start the day...no sleepy eyes to be found. I was kinda glad they "made" us get up because we ended up going to get breakfast and then headed to Walmart to do our grocery shopping. We were out of Walmart by 9:00 and that was great because the rush of people to get their shopping done too were just coming in as we were coming out. So no long lines for us :)
Shaun didn't go to church on Sunday because he could hardly even get out of bed because of neck/back pain. I got ready because I had to teach Relief Society and Spencer and I headed to church. Shaun kept Andrew here because Andrew's good about sitting still as long as you have a book in your hand ready to read to him. So I think that's what they did just about the whole time...and nap of course. The lesson I taught went over pretty good. Better than I thought it was going to. It was mostly about gossip and the effects it can have...I definitely learned a lot trying to prepare the lesson. That's the best part about teaching sometimes, is that you learn probably more than you could convey to the class you're teaching. I know I certainly did.
Here's a picture of Spencer riding in Nana's car from church over to my grandparent's house (they live right beside the church so it wasn't very far to drive).
He thought he was big stuff getting to wear a real seat belt and sit in the front seat.Last night we had the missionaries over for dinner...good ole "homemade" pizza. Thanks Little Caesars! And today has been a slow one so far. We have our last service project meeting tonight and then we'll deliver all the items to the Children's Garden and the Children's cancer center in the next week or so. It has been way fun getting together and making all the items for the kids. I'll try to remember to bring my camera tonight so I can post all the items we've been gathering up.
I guess that's it...hope everyone's having a great day!

Sounds like you had a busy week. Sorry I missed the Tuesday night mtg, I had church Wed & Thurs, so I stayed home Tues to put Spencer in bed. Let me know when you are making the delivery, I would love to go. I tend to spend my days dazed and confused, wondering around the house looking for things to do...which isn't hard.
